HP is killing off its TouchPad and webOS. Absolutely stunning. webOS was the only decent competitor to iOS. It had plenty of rough edges, sure, but it had glowing potential. I guess all that’s left is Windows Phone 7?

Today is the birthday of a brilliant and dear friend who is dearly missed. The best gift I can give you is the gift of not telling you in person, but happy birthday all the same. I hope you’re having the time of your life.
In the interest of consolidation and saving money, I have moved all of my websites back to my server. This allows me to keep control over all aspects of my sites and domains. So after all that, I’m back to WordPress. (Although the new version is pretty spiffy.)

Call me crazy, but if they’re still $99, I’m gonna get one. I was this close to getting one before they all sold out. I placed an order, but it got canceled due to stock running out.

The Justice Department complaint was filed today in federal court in Washington. The U.S. is seeking a declaration that Dallas-based AT&T’s takeover of T-Mobile, a unit of Deutsche Telekom AG (DTE), would violate U.S. antitrust law and a court order blocking any arrangement implementing the deal.”AT&T’s elimination of T-Mobile as an independent, low-priced rival would remove a significant competitive force from the market,” the U.S. said in its filing.
I don’t necessarily think this is a bad thing.

Just like the iPad created a whole option, and thus, new market (the one you keep calling the “tablet market”), the only way to compete is not to get into that market but to create a whole new one.
