I’ve assembled a collection of Doctor Who ringtones that I’ve made for myself over the years, and I thought it might be nice to share them with anyone else who is interested. 

The ringtones included are:

• DW Derbyshire 1963 — The original Derbyshire titles theme
• DW Derbyshire 1970 — An edited version of the 1970’s closing theme
• DW Derbyshire 1970 Silurians — The 1970’s closing theme sans scream
• DW Delaware — The 1970 Delaware opening theme
• DW Howell — Peter Howell’s closing theme from 1980
• DW Glynn — Dominic Glynn’s 1986 closing theme
• DW Glynn Remix — Dominic Glynn’s 2008 closing remix
• DW Glynn 2008 — An edited version of Dominic Glynn’s 2008 full remix
• DW McCulloch — An edited version of Keff McCulloch’s 1987 theme
• DW Debney — John Debney’s theme from the 1996 TV movie
• DW Scream of the Shalka — An edited version of the Shalka theme
• DW Gold — Murray Gold’s 2005 theme
• DW Gold VotD — Murray Gold’s 2008 theme
• DW Howell 2008 — A fusion of the Howell and Gold themes
• DW Dead Ringers — The theme from Dead Ringers Doctor Who sketches
• DW TARDIS Takeoff — The TARDIS takeoff sound
• DW TARDIS Landing — The TARDIS landing sound
• DW Cloister Bell — The TARDIS cloister bell sound

All ringtones are less than 40 seconds in length, and were made to be used with an iPhone. I have included them in M4R format for iPhone users, and regular MP3s for everyone else.

Here are a few simple AppleScripts I’ve written to make my life a little bit easier. They are not saved as “Run Only,” so you can open them up and poke at the code inside all you want. These are posted mostly so people can learn from them; untouched, they won’t be much use as they are written for me. Feel free to customize them for your own purposes. If you want to rerelease your own scripts, some credit is all I ask. The scripts include:

• Startup: A startup script I wrote to launch my most frequently used applications, depending on a few different things (whether I’m connected to the internet, which external hard drives are connected to my computer, etc.).
• Reinitialize: A very basic script that kills the Finder, Dock, and SystemUIServer. A nice way to reinitialize the core components of the system without logging out and back in. It was more fun to make than it is to use.
• Restart into Windows: My most useful script. Sets my Windows drive as the default startup disk for one restart only, allowing me to switch into Windows and then go back to Mac OS X the next time I restart without having to give it a second thought.
